Budapest Summer Festival

Summer is an ideal time to take advantage of the cultural heritage and natural beauty of Budapest. Margarita Island is one of the six scenarios for this edition of Budapest’s summerfest. It is a 2.5 kms long island situated in the middle of the Danube, and it has a Japanese garden, a small zoo, an outdoor pool and a famous outdoor theatre where several events will take place. For the first time, you can get to the theatre by boat! It’s a fantastic opportunity to see the natural horizon before plunging into a world of the most exciting artistic languages.

The famous opera Boris Godunov will be performed, and there will be concerts by the Indian sitar star Anoushka Shankar and Pat Metheny band. Other exhilarating performances will include a production of Cabaret, starring Csilla Radnay in the role of English diva of Sally Bowles. There will be step, rumba, swing and improvisation in the bars on the island of Margarita and for the Dune Carnival on June 15 more than 400 international artists and Hungarians will descend on the island.
