Gastronomical guide to Budapest

Gastronomy in Budapest and in Hungary in general is abundant in spices, the most famous of which is paprika, which is used in many of this country´s typical dishes. In Hungarian cuisine, the most famous dish is goulash, whose ancient origin comes from the rural classes. The dish is made out different meats, vegetables, legumes and, of course, paprika, the national spice. It´s a comforting meal if it´s cold outside, since temperatures in Budapest can be quite low during the winter months, which makes it no surprise that abundant meals predominate most of the Hungarian recipe books.
