For many, traveling in the summer can be difficult but not impossible. Of course, you can still get cheap deals with companies like Vueling, EasyJet and RyanAir, among many others, to just about any destination in the European Union. However, the cost of spending a few days in certain locations can sometimes be a bit high.

Within the European Union,Budapestcan be one of your best options when it comes to keeping costs down. The beautiful Hungarian capital has been one of the hottest destinations for thousands of tourists this summer. Often people take a trip to visit Vienna, Prague and Budapest, for example. Some include Warsaw as well to “round out” the trip. Whether by plane, train or bus, if you plan ahead of time, this route can be very economical and you’ll discover three or four of the most traditional and exotic cities in Central Europe. If your budget doesn’t allow you to visit multiple cities, we would suggest that you bet on Budapest.

With the low-cost airlines, you’re certain to have a comfortable ride from anywhere in Europe. We recommend a stay of at least five to seven days. Is a week too long to fully discover a city? Quite the contrary. But five days are usually enough to live in such a profound city. And this isn’t only to experience its tourist attractions, you’ll want to get to know its public spaces, dining, nightlife, museums and history too. And, of course, you’ll want to be able to have time for adventures, new friends and surprises. From Budapest, one can also take a short trip to the outskirts of the city, such as to the fabulous Lake Balaton.

Another important reason to visit Budapest is that dining is not as expensive. At many high-end but not extremely exclusive restaurants, you can have dinner with a starter, main course, dessert and drinks or various types of wine for an average price of around 25 euros per person. Of course, you will also find places to eat pizzas, kebabs and sandwiches for a lot less. However, if you want to have an elegant night out, 25 euros is much less than you’d expect to spend in cities such as Paris, Madrid, Brussels and Barcelona.

Similarly, transportation costs in Budapest are also economical. Plus, you can walk around town without using public transportation if you wish. The city itself is quite flat, which allows you to walk from one end to another without much trouble. By walking, you’re certain to discover new and interesting spots. In September the temperatures drop and the weather will be temperate in Budapest and cool during the afternoon and evening. For more information visit this website: http://www.budapest.com/

Rent apartments in Budapest to take advantage of the arrival of autumn. The city is economical and offers much to discover without masses of tourists. You are sure to have a good time.

Like many other scenarios of our culture, men have always had a privileged place in various sports categories. Perhaps because of the origin of the Olympic Games in ancient Greece, where men were always the dominant gender in all the competitions. Of course, women today have also a significant presence in all branches of sport, as a result of the twentieth century advances in terms of rights and equality for all individuals.

Today, women play sports, which was once considered only for men, such as football, basketball, boxing, wrestling, among many others. Even though this is already common in our culture, there are always conflicting comments or rejection about womens sports. Thus, the struggle for equal rights, for people of different genders is still present, even in sports, against ignorance, discrimination and lack of mind-openness by the dominant gender.

Throughout this struggle of genres, EuroGames are presented as an important alternative for the LGBT community. If youve never heard of the EuroGames, they are the European sport competitions for gays and lesbians. This important event, besides being a high-quality choice for sports fans in different disciplines, also aims to combat discrimination based on sexual preference and encourage the integration of all genres during sports events.

So EuroGames seeks to give a new option for those LGBT athletes who have been marginalized because of their sexual preferences, make them feel pleased and even and even encourage them to “come out” during a sports celebration that enriches fraternal and enthusiastic relations. The Eurogames are open to all who want to participate, regardless of gender, age, race or sexual preference. In recent editions of EuroGames, athletes from Europe and the world have participated. This year, this important event will be held in the beautiful city of Budapest, from June 27th to the 1st of July , another reason to visit this important city during the summer.

Budapest is a city full of traditions and yet modern, with beautiful architecture that will captivate you as you walk its streets and avenues. If you are looking for some excitement during the trip, the nightlife in Budapest will guarantee it. Restaurants, bars and gay-friendly clubs await you just steps from the Mystic River Danube. Museums, galleries, boutiques refined and beautiful green areas, make Budapest one of the best places to unwind and enjoy your vacations.

The EuroGames also await you, do not hesitate and come to Budapest this summer. For more information about the EuroGames, visit the following website: http://www.eurogamesbudapest.hu/

After a hard winter, the return of spring means going out onto the streets again, enjoying some sun and being once again amongst nature, eating al fresco and going to café terraces. This past winter was a lot harder than the last. Perhaps its because of global warming that the seasons are more intense or unstable, with unexpected climate changes that include waves of wind and cold, storms and other phenomenons, so could it be true that its the end of the world in 2012? The human race and the thousands of inventions of its culture are always bordering the apocalypse; that machinery that unites us to death so desperately and that makes the final destruction of the planet something so selfish, eroticized and eventually another product of day to day consumption. Religions and companies, or religions that are companies or companies that are religions, it doesnt matter, just fill us with fear with these ideas that turn out to be false, that separate us from today, the time of action and the constant daily transformation.

Spring is a reason for rejuvenation, rebirth, of new life and light. Of course its related with the green environment of the dry and shadowy forest, the return of flowers and birds in patios and gardens, no other association goes better with love, fertility and the essence of life itself. And so, so many books and poems have been written to spring that wed need more days to count them, comment on and read them all. In the same way, the association of spring and music has always been intense. The processes of musical creation, like spring, can be the result of a large effort in the personal interior darkness that finally bring melodies and rhythms to light, which move us in a thousand different ways and make us more human and, of course, more careful towards the beauty of our humanity.

Despite the contradictions of our time, art and of course music, above all, can bring us back to think about our species, its future and the immense possibility of change that the human race represents. Even more in spring and in a city as poetic as Budapest, which traps you from the first moment of your visit.

The Spring Musical Festival in Budapest is one of the best pretexts to travel and see this beautiful city in a climate that rejuvenates us and with the spirit of seeing contemporary, classical, jazz and folk music as well as the opera from inside in some of the most emblematic places in the city: churches, the Palace of Arts and the Thália Theatre among others. For more information visit the following website: http://www.btf.hu/

Anyone who thinks that Paris, London, Milan and New York remain the only sources of international fashion today, little know about what is really happening in terms of fashion around the world. Of course, these cities continue to conglomerate much of the international fashion industry, many of the most important designers are strategically placed in them, but much more is happening in some other cities, such as in Budapest. Besides having a lot of independent designers, Budapest aroused the interest of the consumer market to fashion; “Made in Hungary” is present.

The future does not belong to the old dinosaurs, to the same markets. From the place of the margin, from the borders and out of the common patterns, at present, new and riskier models are being tried, new ways of dressing, different costumes, and riskier products at better prices by independent designers, sound much more interesting. The WAMP fair that takes place regularly in this city verifies this.

It is noteworthy that some of the most important and recognized brands are more established in Budapest, either in shopping malls in central areas of the city or intermingled with small shops in the historic center. Brands like Vapiano, United Colors of Benetton, Sisley, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, La Coste and Nanushka will be waiting for. All these brands are available in the ” Fashion Street ” on the remodeled Deák Ferenc Street.

Keep in mind, that style in Budapest at night is very important; both women and men, are risky, wearing trendy and sexy clothes, when it comes to conquering the nights of dancing and fun that the city offers. Do not be surprised that some residents actually spend time and money in the production of their daily clothing. Like in any big city, the style is considered long before romance.

Another essential place to find the best in fashion in Budapest is the shopping mall next to Blaha Lujza Square. Here you will find a greater variety of items in some very exclusive, small shops and recreational areas, as well as other services to spend an entire afternoon shopping.

While the most of the best in clothing, shoes and accessories can be found at the center of the city, exploring some nearby areas you will find interesting shops where there are plenty of unusual items and great prices. Like going hunting, its about going with the keen eye and explore everywhere. Never miss the deals at the beginning of the year, some weeks after Christmas holidays.

Get apartments in Budapest and explore its ancient and modern streets, filled with fashionable shops and curiosities. Going shopping is an adventure that requires a careful city exploration, Budapest awaits.

When it comes to creating in fashion, the best thing to do is to be irreverent and uncontrollable. Urban fashion is in constant change, just like cities, and one has to dress to rise to the occasion. The challenge is in knowing what to choose confidently among the best designs and models for each situation, each event, each day. Today, the role of fashion in culture is still expanding, for good or for bad, and it constitutes itself even more into an indispensable factor to understand youth, the political circumstances of politics and towards which direction common interests are going. The main thing is not to lose your mind when choosing a design, by trying to impress or being casual.

The visual production of today surpasses the limits of assimilation of all Internet users. In other words, a large part of the world is connected to a marasmus of images and stimulants which surpass our capacity of interpretation. From this distinctive feature of our present, fashion uses resources such as design, photography, recycling and politics to be able to denounce or praise its own market. The biggest companies in fashion of today dont waste time on their studies on market campaigns because now its clear that fashion is on the street and it follows the street, for the street. Never doubt in finding a new garment or style by walking around where you usually do. You just have to have a little more curiosity and risk, finding new designs, vintage clothes or accessories in any city which you go to. Its not about being original, as you know, but more about knowing how to organize those accessories and clothes which go best with your personal style.

Like in all European cities, even more now in this globalized era, Budapest also generates new fashion and clothing trends. As its well known, fashion in Budapest is part of its daily life, just as it is to always present new models on the international catwalk. Budapest is among the cities which the fall of the Berlin wall suited best. Certainly a city which offers a lot of culture, history and art, as well as first class night entertainment. All of this fits perfectly with a perspective of global growth, in which those cities which were isolated before due to old ideological systems, now flourish trying to be in the centre of the international cultural production.

Retrock presents some of the most interesting designers in Budapest, among which we can find Nanushka, Use Unused, Tamara Banuff and Je suis belle. At Retrock you can find unique pieces, all of them original samples of the newest in international trends. Also, of course, theres international designer clothes, and fashion created from recycled elements, new materials or vintage, as well as comic books, posters of the 60s and 70s and the best kitch accessories that you can imagine. All of this in an atmosphere in the centre of Budapest, with the best service from a young stuff filled with great energy.
To talk about design in todays day and age is to be aware of what is really going on in the field of aesthetic exploration and production and marketing means. All of it is linked with one another: dont expect that the new t-shirt that youve bought in the kitschiest shop in your city has nothing to do with any new conceptual agenda or relation with the newest in political complaints or new ways of production which are environment-friendly. Many designers, today go for green trends, an option which as well as helping the planet with its immediate corrosion and destruction, works as an even more seductive factor for the product youre about to consume; and its more than obvious, dont let them fool you: behind any attempt of political correctness theres also a catch to get more money out of you so that others make more money.

The ease that design production is made with these days, thanks in the same way to quicker and more efficient means of production, makes that many young people can show their work and that theres a larger variety of new possibilities. Despite that quantity doesnt mean quality, whats true is that among more range of choice regarding fashion, accessories, objects, music or home decoration, there are better options of finding the right gift or fetish. In other words, as well as being a very good option so that thousands of creative people gather, Wamp is also one of the best places to find the most unusual and special Christmas gift, which will surely delight the person receiving the gift, because they will have a unique stylish item, and especially because it will be the latest in Budapests world of design.

And so, Wamp is more than a market, its a designers exhibition, a space of action, an emerging community of new talents in Budapest. Wamp presents itself once or twice a month during the year. This way, the best in design is available for citizens, tourists, curious people and everyone who is passing by or lives in the beautiful city of Budapest. This way, Wamp is the perfect meeting place for creative people from around the world, as well as the trend setters who search for the cutting edge in European fashion.

Wamp presents the best in graphic arts, photography, painting, sculpture, ceramics, home textiles, fashion, accessories, jewelry, furniture and gastronomy. Some of the names you have to remember when visiting Wamp are, MÍO Design, Gera Noémi, Muka Viktória, Kaintz Regina, Czeizler Zsolt, Földi Klára, Ligeti Miklós, BringaBag, Becker Judit, Csekő Etelka and MUSU among others.
Theater had a realistic slope for many years. It was not until the late nineteenth century when it started to appear a change in this trend, mainly due to the various artistic vanguards and the advent of modernity. So, thanks to advances in visual media through symbolism and abstraction, theater took a step to higher levels of representation, staging and proposals. Today, contemporary drama uses a variety of new resources ranging from video, installation and increasingly minimal and conceptual staging, in which new records interact with aesthetic, political, current and controversial stories.

Perhaps the greatest example of total contemporary theater is the King Ubu by Alfred Jarry, a piece with multiple variations and recurring themes, works both the in stage and the subject matter from a political irony and humor truly amazing for its time. Jarry was a visionary, and as such, a precursor of Dadaism and other “isms” of the time. The curious thing about a piece like King Ubu, is that besides its high sarcasm, questioning the political environment of its time, anarchic and volatile capacity, is structured from the meaning and quite complex language games, in which the reader or anyone who witnesses the piece, simply get carried away by logic staged games. In this work, too, shedding is minimal nature of the staging of contemporary art.

Antonin Artaud took a step forward in creating theater. With his theories on the “Theatre of Cruelty,” Artaud not only proposes new means even more abstract and metaphysical included in the staging. It was after his explorations in Mexico with peyote in the Tarahumara tribes Theatre Artaud understood as a profound exploration of the unconscious, which also reveals a ritualistic nature scene on the set. So Artaud makes plays in their colors appear as substances, or occurrences that increased the volume on stage. What encourages Artaud is not stable look over the world, but rather quite the contrary. Artaud reveals the short depth of human spirit and the horror of the void, the inability to be present or be in the unrecognized breath by breath, no more than a pathetic construction of meanings around us, and that reality invention is also empty, no other culture density that gives, and which confuses us, contra lateral and manipulated.

The Contemporary Drama Festival Budapest has over ten years. During this period, there have been more than a hundred international performances in the festival, which each year continues to cause interest at the Hungarian public as well as internationally. The festival is a very interesting space in which new proposals for theater and performance converse, mingle, and generate new creations.
One of the most important retrospective exhibitions of the work of the artist, architect and urban planner, Yona Friedman, opens on the 28th of October 28 at Ludwig Museum in Budapest. This exhibition, which will be on display until the 8th of January 2012, covers theoretical processes, artwork, projects and drawings by Friedman.

The Exhibition is organized to cover almost all relevant aspects of this artist, including the development of his work as an architect, urban planner and the theoretical approaches that have become a required source for young artists and architects who produce works using as a stage the public space or are worried about it and the link of them with the individuals.

Yona Friedman was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1923. He is considered one of the most important living contemporary artists in this country, despite his French nationality. He was famous for his anticipating theories about urbanism and also for building interesting concepts that revolutionized the way we see the development of cities and human settlements, raiding models based on sustainability. He also explored the animated film and design.

He is considered the father of utopian architecture; his proposals are always placed in areas bordering the creation and theory, even leaving many of his statements in an “unsolvable” state in terms of technical and practical aspects. Hence the name of utopian architecture.

During the World War II, he managed to flee from the Nazi repression and moved to the city of Haifa, Israel, where he stayed for over a decade. In 1957 he was finally transferred to Paris where he became a citizen in 1966.

In 1956 he participated in the 10th International Congress of Modern Architecture in Dubrovnik with his “Manifesto of the mobile architecture”, revolutionizing the art scene with his perspective on the creation of cities, where inhabitants can enjoy the freedom of movement, breaking with the idea of rigid architectural structure.

Among the applications or forms of materialization of the “mobile architecture” he proposes the concept of “Space City”, which raised the possibility of building mobile and adaptable spaces, detachable and changeable for their own inhabitants. A revolutionary idea of social architecture, that ended up permeating his entire career and his work.

In 1958 he founded the research group Mobile Architecture (GEAM), not for long, but with a short productive life, the group was dissolved in 1962, being a fundamental reference for the process of change and transformation in the early 60s.

Among his most important works are the Cylindrical Shelers a construction proposal for immigrants, done in 1953, Span-Over notebook in 1958, where he developed his manifesto Mobile Architecture and in 1989 the Science Museum of La Villette in Paris.

In the area of the theory, the publications: Toward a Scientific Architecture at MIT Press, 1975. Meina Fibel in 1982 and Pro Domo ACTAR D, 2006. These and other publications reported a proliferation of theoretical and supported his effort to make room for thinking about a better life in cities.

With a fascinating history, Budapest is undoubtedly the one and only queen of the Danube. Since Roman times, this beautiful city was renown for its numerous thermal baths. Also, the famous Aquincum museum, is found in Roman ruins which are over one thousand years old. Among these, theres an amphitheater as well as other archeological wonders. The Danube in itself is already a marvel in itself, and there are cruises that take you from its top to the very bottom.

Anyway, if what youre looking for isnt just romance but a bit of action instead, theres a wide variety of gay saunas in the city where great massages, some eroticism and freedom combine, so you can have an intense time while youre visiting museums and historical sites. One of the most popular ones is Magnum. With well-equiped facilities with over 550 sq metres, you can find saunas, steam rooms, private cabins, glory holes, video rooms, gym, solarium, bar, food, massage rooms and dark rooms so you can have “more privacy”. Whatever you can imagine, its there. Also, this popular place organizes different events in its facilities. Having been Budapests first gay sauna, every Friday they have naked parties from 10pm and, on Saturdays, parties from 8pm with live shows. Unmissable and unpredictable.

Along the same lines, another very interesting sauna is Sauna 69. In its, obviously, Western style, in 69 youll be able to meet cute guys who go to relax there for a while taking a break from work or there everyday lives. It has a jacuzzi, steam rooms, private rooms and glory holes. Also, if your thing is swimming and being naked, Palatinus is also a very good option. Its open from May 1st until August 22nd, in Margit Szeget. Theres a nudist terrace full of gorgeous guys waiting for you. Of course, each of these options are at your wallets disposal, and what suits you best. The truth is that one week to explore these options would be good for you. It might be the necessary time that you need to go for a steamy walk in the most daring saunas.

And while were on the subject of Spring and Summer, a well-recommended beach for gays is the Lake Omszki Beach. This is north of Budapest and you dont have to pay to be on the shores of this lake. It is mostly frequented by naturists who come to enjoy these waters on the hottest days. Exactly, nudism everywhere and, above all, plenty of gay visitors, so thats another meeting point that you cant miss. At the lake, as well as having a splendid bath, you can also do waterskiing and go on boats. For more information on gay activities in Budapest, you can visit this webpage: http://www.budapest-gayguide.com/

Budapest offers these and many more other options for the gay community. Thats why, the best thing to do is to get apartments in Budapest and have a great time, especially on these sunny days which are already everywhere in Europe.
